What is Rotary?

Rotary is a global organisation whose aim is to provide a service to others, to promote integrity, advance world understanding, goodwill and peace.

On a more local scale, Rotary is all about friendship and community – each club will have its own aims and objectives depending on their location. Rotary clubs across the world cover a huge range of issues, including:

  • Promoting peace
  • Fighting disease
  • Providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Saving mothers and children
  • Supporting education
  • Growing local economics
  • Protecting the environment

Rotary clubs can also support communities by raising money for charity, hosting events and supporting events.
