Aberystwyth’s newest Rotary Club is nearing 12 months since its formation, we’ll be celebrating our first year during December 2022. It’s certainly been a busy few months over the summer for us. As a new club, we’re still formulating what we’d like to support in the future, how to raise money for chosen charities, events we’d like to organise and how to support organisations and events already occurring in the area.

One key element for us so far has been to support organisations and events in Aberystwyth, which included marshalling at the Aber Cycle Fest during May and volunteering on the Southern Wales District stall at the National Eisteddfod. We’re looking forward to offering support again to the Menter Aberystwyth Christmas Light Switch On, and Aberystwyth Farmer’s Market this winter, and are also very excited to be helping arrange a Carol evening in December at St Michael’s Church.

Do you want to join?

We welcome any new members to join Ardal Aberystwyth – if you are looking to provide support to the community, organise events or simply meet new people, then this might be the club for you!

Ardal Aberystwyth meets once a month, usually of an evening to discuss upcoming events and campaigns to raise money for. Outside of those meetings we also meet for informal socials, including evening dinners, socialising over drinks, quiz nights and this October off-road go-karting! As far as Rotary Clubs go, we’re approaching things a little different, but still keeping community and friendship in mind.
